Know India Programme (KIP) is an important initiative of the Government of India to engage with youth of Indian diaspora (between 21-35 years) and connect them to India. The programme is aimed at acquainting the diaspora youth with progress made by India in various fields e.g. Indian Art, Heritage, Culture, Economy Innovation, Science & Technology etc.
2. KIP provides a unique forum for students and young professionals of Indian origin to visit India, share their views, expectations & experiences and to develop closer bonds with the contemporary India. The programme is open to youth of Indian origin (youth holding Indian passports are not eligible). Government of India extends complete hospitality e.g., boarding and internal transportation in India, return air tickets from their country of residence to India and vice-versa provided participants bear 10% of the cost of total airfare.
3. Minimum qualification required for participating in KIP is graduation from a recognized University/ Institute enrolled for graduation and ability to speak in English. The applicant should not have visited India through any previous programme of the Government of India.
4. 77th edition of the KIP would focus on highlighting sectoral developments of India in Science & Technology, Information & Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Infrastructure, Startup Ecosystem, Digital Infrastructure, Defence and Agriculture etc. while further highlighting cultural and civilizational heritage of India like Yoga, Ayurveda, Classical forms of Dance and Music and Archaeological history.
