On 2 October 2019, for celebration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Mission organized a panel discussion of the Gandhian thoughts in Hotel Hilton Malabo. Representative of government of Equatorial Guinea (EG), members of diplomatic corps and people from various field participated in the event. Ambassdor Man Mohan Bhanot gave the opening remarks and highlighted the importance of Gandhi’s teaching in the contemporary world. Mrs Maricruz Evuna, director of International organization of government of EG who was the chief guest for the event shared her experience about the impact of Ghandhian thought on her daughter. The other panelist included South African Ambassador Ephraim Lungile Dantjie and US Ambassador Susan N. Stevenson to Equatorial Guinea mentioned regarding the impact of Gandhian teaching on their leaders Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr respectively. Mr Maurice Martinez, Director of French cultural center in EG, who was moderator for the events emphasized on inculcating the value system in the children for brighter and better world.

In the event, many representative of diplomatic community and local Guinean citizen expressed their views and actively participated in the Q&A session of the event. The event was followed by High tea with some Indian snack sponsored by Golden Swan, a waste management company owned by Mr Rakesh Dudhat, an Indian citizen.
